Hello! My name is Eric Cass, I fell in love with the game of golf at the ripe age of 1 yr. old. My first real set of clubs were Chi Chi Rodriquez. I still have my 3 wood.
My dad, Terry, was a golf lover and a low handicap player. Dad would take me everywhere with him to caddy in "The Hunt" - a guys' money game. I used to sell lemonade, golf balls, caddy, cut grass and work around the clubhouse to help pay my golf expenses.
At age 9, Billy Casper hosted a clinic in our hometown. He picked me to be his caddy/assistant for the day. The entire day with PGA Tour Professional Billy Casper. I learned so much!

At age 10, I was playing in "The Hunt" which is really unheard of at that age!
In high school, I became a two-time IHSAA golf state finalist and studied under Hall of Fame golf coach and author Bob Arnett.

Cathy Harbin also took me under her wing. I am one of her first junior golfers. Cathy is a graduate of Indiana State University and the former Director of Golf at the World Golf Village. Currently, she manages several golf courses around the world.
I played golf at Wabash Valley Community College in Mt. Carmel, IL. where I was an All-Conference player. Our golf coach was Mark Coomes. He became the Assistant Coach under Lou Henson at the University of Illinois and then the Head Basketball Coach for the University of Chicago.
During my active duty in the United States Air Force, I was stationed at Andersen AFB in Guam. There, I was fortunate to meet Gus Gogwin B-52 Irons and PGA Professional Joyce Huffer. Joyce became the golf professional at Kesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi.
Following my South Pacific Tour, I was stationed at Nellis AFB RED HORSE Unit in Las Vegas. There, I won the Base Championship and was mentored by John Little and Doug Sanders, PGA Tour.

In 1988 I enrolled in the first class at The Golf Academy of the South in Orlando, FL. and studied under world- famous golf instructor, Wally Armstrong and PGA Tour Rules Official Gene Smith.

Other PGA professionals and mentors I have studied under:

Doug Sanders - Las Vegas, NV
Tommy Bolt - Ridge Manor, FL
Charlie Sifford - Tampa, FL **
Jimmy Dent - Tampa, FL
Charlie Owens - Tampa, FL
Johnny Roberts - Largo, FL
Chi Chi Rodriquez - Clearwater, FL
USGTF Master Instructor John Savage - Gettysburg, PA.

** Charlie Sifford was the first African American on the PGA tour

In 1989, I founded A Life of Golf for Kids and came back to my hometown of Terre Haute, IN. It's been my life's mission to promote junior golf and bring quality golf instruction to the kids in the Wabash Valley. I am the co-founder of the Boys and Girls Club Golf Program in Terre Haute, the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts Golf Merit Badge Representative, I taught the Accredited Golf Class for ISU for 6 years, All-State Golf Coach for High School and Middle School Golf, Former American Legion State Golf Champion, All-American Coaches Award for NJCAA, WIC Golf Coaches Award, and Head Golf Professional. One of our kids even plays on the PGA Tour - Chad Collins.
I
When it comes to golf, it does not matter your age or ability level. The game of golf has so much to offer. Whether you are wanting to brush up on your golf game, prepare for a golf competition, or simply want to beat your friends, I will provide quality instruction backed by the United States Golf Teachers Federation and my lifetime experience.

I've been teaching and promoting Junior Golf for since 1989. More than 100,000+ Kids served.
As for A Life of Golf for Kids, we have produced an endless number of success stories over our program's history. Giving kids to opportunity to be introduced to the game, has built wonderful memories those kids still carry with them today.

Our School Outreach Program is dedicated to introducing and teaching elementary & middle school students about this terrific game.

Thank you to my Dad for sharing his love of the game with me and instilling in me the desire to share the game of golf to others.
